I referred to your use of the word fearful. If you choose to place all who object to the use of the words "under God" as being fearful then so be it. I do not choose to put people in 2 groups, those who are fearful of the use of the words "under God" and those who are not.
Back in the 50's my mother objected to these words, I never really understood how important her objection was until I read the court decision.

I suggest that you read it too.

I've noticed that it's fashionable to advertise which groups one belongs/is associated with.
Grandfather, Jewish, all family lost under WW2, Grandmother, Catholic, all family lost under WW2
Mother, Theosophist
Father, Converted Agnostic from Catholicism.
Me, New Yorker, grew up in Manhatten
