I got to get myself a big screen TV for the 2006 WC<g>
First, what a relief my favorite won for a change! Second, I must congratulate the German team which finally showed that they belonged, too bad it took seven games to do it...The Germans dominated the first half by their physical play, they just looked more ready to play and the Brazilians just gave them way too much space...even though, the Brazilians still created more chances and Ronaldo inexplicably missed 3 sure goals! Actually, in half time I was pleading for Scolari to replace Ronaldo which, IMHO, he totally sucked. Second half, it was a different story...The Brazilians came out a lot more ready and started going forward a lot more often than the first half, you just knew that the goal was coming (it could have been a German goal as easily as well)...until Mr. Reliable dude Kahn made his mistake and Ronaldo made him pay for it (observation: if no wet ball, there is no way he will let the ball rebound!). Then the second by a magic move by Rivaldo and a clinical execution by Ronaldo (what the heck was he shooting for in the next half?) Ronaldinho did not have such a good game. We must give proper credit to the Brazilian defense, Lucio was a Goliath and Marcos is a REAL goalie (wow!). Schneider had a monster game too. All in a all , a great game and a great job by the ref. I wished Brazil had scored earlier, it would have been even better...I hated the Christian T shirts "I belong to Jesus" in English crap some Brazilians pulled at the end of the game, shame on them! After all the controversies, I think it did come down to the best two teams this year and the Best team deservedly won it! Guess whose jersey my son is wearing today? It starts with an R.....(hint: 11 WC careeer goals at age 25) |
