I think LRCX and NVLS are soo close that owning both doesn't add much divergence to a portfolio. NVLS tracks AMAT well so I see no need to pay taxes from selling some AMAT or LRCX to buy NVLS. Keeping with my KISS ideas... I bought LRCX in a big way in Sept/Oct 1998 when it was dirt cheap and paying taxes to diversify into NVLS is silly.

Since Dec 00 LRCX bottom (tax loss selling pushed it lower I think)

BTW, I have not "worked" with income over expenses since late 1998 so I only have money to buy if I sell something or take assets from fixed side of the allocation. One idea is to "hope" semi's go into the crapper then go back to work when they are hiring but price is still down, get options and company share purchases... and ride them up again.
