The American capital markets are, among their other advantages, self correcting. In fact they have already gotten the message loud and clear (corporate integrity), and are dealing successfully with it. Never assume, despite the propaganda of the Marxist/Leninist left, that there are any more than a few bad apples (most of whom are wise-guy Democrats). The great liars, Gore, Clinton, Carville, condemned capitalism before, and will certainly condemn it for the rest of their worthless lives.

We need corrections to laws-but mostly, like everything else in our corrupt government, ENFORCEMENT of EXISTING laws. Nobody is going to "get the money back from the crooks" because they got slaughtered too. They imitated the trend in our politics from the Clinton era: break any law, tell any lie, and hire the lawyers to cover it all up for you. The punishment of the left for their public-sector crimes is happening gradually, but will be sure and true. The private-sector crooks will get theirs sooner, and it will be well-deserved.

We have one advantage: Clinton's gone, and we have an honest, principled president and a competent administration to go after the wrongdoers. I can't imagine the executive criminals doing anything but laughing off a Clinton or Gore in a situation like this. The left will sit around, slandering Cheney (with plenty of self-serving propaganda links here) and claiming that capitalism itself is corrupt (which is another Marxist lie) while Bush leads the Congress to solve the problems and put confidence back in the markets (that were destroyed by Clinton). Greenspan will be allowed to bow out gracefully, his more competent replacement approved by the Republican Senate next year.

And in 2002 and 2004 the left will be looking flabbergasted on TV, wondering why their lies and slander stopped working with the electorate. That, at least, will make it all worthwhile...
