As you say, PJ, it would not affect book. Book was negative even when the price hit 15.75 in '96.

And the strict definition of shareholders equity, if I am not mistaken, is in fact assets minus liabilities.

I am confused by the statement about equity market conditions also. Do they plan to spin something off? Do they think the stock will perfrom well enough to allow a shelf offering to raise cash? Just do not know.

My opinion is that,in practical terms, these details mean very little..and if Ampex keeps ADS above water and they also achieve some digital patent scores, they'll be extended again next year...and they'll come up with some new confusing wording for us to ponder.

Have no idea if this is what the yahoo poster was referring to. Swamp Fox Charlie would know.
