I fear that we no longer have the political system in place to be able to access founding father-quality people. Think about it. What sort of politician wins and thrives? The kind that looks good on TV and plays it safe, never takes a hard stance because it is right, but instead because it is what his/her party wants.

I had hopes that Bush, although I did not vote for him, would rise about the petty politics. But, it seems he can't. Is it even possible? Where is Harry S Truman when you need him (regardless of which party - I mean a man of character).
