European semiconductor sales fell 20.6% in May from a year earlier to $2.327 billion, reported the European Electronic Component Manufacturers Association.

It said that sales for the first five months of the year were down 27.1% compared with the same period last year and sales fell 2% in May from April.

The exchange rate of the euro is still affecting the data, said the association. In euro, semiconductor sales were 2.511 billion euro in May, giving a 20.1% year-on-year fall.
