The law to add "under God" was passed very quickly in 1954 when President Eisenhower was fearful of a war with the Soviet Union... there was talk at the time that the pledge was too much like the Communist type pledges and he wanted to add "under God" to make it clear the pledge was not Communist type doctrine... it only took a California fruitcake to remove the two words 48 years later... at this moment most all California public school have had the American flag removed from the classroom... is there any wonder why people are taking their kids out of public schools in droves in favor of private school vouchers? I'll Bet this Michael Newdow is still accepting his paycheck which has "In God We Trust" written all over it... GZ
