Random drug testing of people in their early formative years is akin to abortion in that the destruction of potential is a known quantity whereas the benefits are entirely surreptitious and only serve those who have a disturbing psychological bent toward CONTROL.
ALL past examples of centralized CONTROL are known to result in deleterious outcomes.
Considering the direction the current administration is taking, it's IMPOSSIBLE to reconcile the longstanding Republican stance against larger government and for less control with HUGE increases in beaurocratic infrastructure and spending we are witnessing.
I thought it was just Democrats who advocate gross intrusion on our private decisions.
Random drug testing of public school students tells ALL parents that they are not to be trusted to raise their children properly and the ONLY authority in such matters is the federal govt. bullshit.
Both parties suck. Anyone who bases their critical thinking on the supposition that either the Democrats are right or the Republicans are right is STUPID imo.
The right-wing idiots on this thread are perfect examples of this stupidity. It's curious, though, that there are not really any left-wing idiots here but if Gore had connived himself into the Presidency instead of Bush conniving his way in, I have no doubt that this thread (albeit titled PRESIDENT AL GORE) would be riddled with such idiots.
The 2 party "system" is not a system...it's a trap.
