Britt,

Must admit I'm becoming a tired bear also.

Here something from a web site I found on Presidential Cycle

"However, it is quite posssible that the cyclical behavior of the market will become less predictable in the future. Perhaps there will be less political pressure on the Fed to reduce interest rates during the 2 years leading up to future presidential elections. Perhaps the Fed will do such a good job in controlling the economic cycle that market prices will vary only slightly over the 4-year cycle. Maybe the driving force behind the business inventory cycle will be greatly reduced by modern technology; in particular, instant information transfer, the use of just-in-time methods to control inventory
buildup, and point-of-sale tracking of inventories. Or perhaps there will be very destabilizing events in the future, such as those of the 1920's and 30's, that will overshadow the 4-year market cycle. As they say, past performance is no guarantee of future profits, and your mileage may vary.
