The Denon DVD-A1 player (also known as the DVD-9000 in the North American market), provides stunning picture quality with its Progressive-Scan video output and outstanding audio quality with its support of the advanced DVD-Audio format. The DVD-A1 player offers surround sound capability of up to 6 independent channels of 96-kHz 24-bit audio and 2-channel resolution of 192-kHz 24-bit audio. This enhanced player supports Linear Pulse Code Modulation (LPCM) audio decode, audio watermark detection, and Copy Protection for Prerecorded Media (CPPM). Using the ESS ES6038, the Denon DVD-A1 player offers SCART RGB, composite, and S-Video output as well as being able to play DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, CD, Video CD, and Kodak Picture CD.
The Denon DVD-A1 player has also won other awards including: "HiVi Audio Visual Magazine" in Japan, which awarded the Denon player the Summer 2002's First Place Best Buy award for high-end DVD players, and "Stereo Magazine" in Japan rated the Denon DVD-A1 player as the Prime DVD-Audio player in its class of high-end players.
