Jorj,
You may not realize it, but the meaning of "prejudice" is to to make an a priori decision on a fact matter before a suitable and proper examination of the issue is made. My opposition to the Sharon crime spree is not prejudicial. It has evolved with my reading of history over the past 35 years. I once was a big fan of Israel.
So calling me prejudiced is an error on your part. I have not always been so adamantly opposed to Israel's war crimes. They have not always been so horrible. When Labor was in charge of the Israeli government during the early 1990's, I was a supporter of Israel. I became alarmed when Netanyahu took office, and I became even more alarmed about 18 months ago when it became obvious that Ariel Sharon was deliberately provoking the Palestinians with his aggressive thrust onto the Temple Mount. That was when I really started to try to get a handle on the Israeli insanity. And what I discovered dismayed me. "The Origins of the Palestine-Israel Conflict" was the capper for me. It confirmed all my worst fears about what Israel was really like, and how it is never portrayed in the corporate press.
So, I am not prejudiced. I have come to my conclusions after many, many hours of study and endless attention to the news.
But you're close. I am opposed to the Jewish occupation and the imperialistic tendencies of the county.
And I'm a huge fan of Reuben's Sandwiches with real Brooklyn pastrami. So how can you call me prejudiced? The rugala, the bagels, lox, schmearz, smoked salmon, pickled herring. I love it all.
But here's my secret. I've looked at the gefilte fish in deli. I've stared at it on the supermarket shelf. There, I draw the line. I am prejudiced against gelfilte fish.
