i am sorry to hear that your shares were in your IRA-- and unfortunately, it's true that you can't take the loss on your taxes.
i see here and on the Yahoo board that there are those in worse circumstances than myself--- one person on Yahoo owned 4000 shares at over $34. Her friends who worked for WCOM kept telling her to hang in there as it was just a "perception problem".......
i thought my situation was unique in that, i never really had possession of the shares (they will probably materialize in my account maybe even by tomorrow morning, along with the simultaneous disappearance of $15k cash )
