8:21AM PMC-Sierra estimates cut at Pru (PMCS) 8.75: Prudential believes that expectations for quarterly double-digit sequential growth in 2H02 may be too aggressive given the continued uncertainty in the timing and slope of recovery; cuts FY02 est to ($0.29) from ($0.27) and FY03 to $0.05 from $0.10 (both well below consensus), and cuts price target to $11 from $20.

8:15AM Qualcomm downgraded to Mkt Perform at Hambrecht-- estimates too high (QCOM) 26.43: WR Hambrecht downgrades to MKT PERFORM from Buy on view that FY03 consensus estimates are too high. Though QCOM preannounced a strong Q3, firm believes excess 1X chipset inventory could dampen Q4 chipset shipments.
