Bombardier Receives $24 Million Order for the Delivery of
Double-Deck Trains to Israel

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--JULY 2, 2002 - 09:39 EDT
Bombardier Transportation has received an order
from the Ports and Railways Authority-Israel Railways (Tel Aviv)
to deliver three 4-car double-deck trains, each consisting of one
power car and three trailer cars. The contract, which is a
follow-on order to a contract awarded in August 1999, is valued at
about $24 million Cdn (16 million Euro). The air-conditioned
trains, which are scheduled to be delivered between April and May
2004, will be put in service for the Tel Aviv area as part of the
project "Railway 2000".

The trains will be manufactured and assembled at Bombardier
Transportation's site in Gorlitz, Germany. The electrical
equipment will be provided by Bombardier's site in Berlin-Marzahn,
and the bogies by its site in Vetschau, also in Germany. In
Israel, Bombardier is cooperating closely with local
subcontractors.

The current order brings to 17 the number of double-deck trains
ordered by the Israel Railways since 1999. The first 14 trains
have already been delivered.
