The animations are fascinating. I thought I had seen the last of storing data with hot tips in wax (err, polymer surface) with the demise of phonograph records. I guess it is time for me to brush up my reading on nanotechnolgy.

Robert, You have a gift for spelling out what is wrong with so many ambitious enterprises in a nutshell. Perhaps it is an inevitable evil of human nature struggling to survive within organizations where approvals to proceed and accountability for results are diversified among functionaries with competing agendas.
