So. Cal real estate went down, down, down and didn't bottom until about 1996-1997. Not sure that we have surpssed that peak in 1989, but maybe. If so... not by much.

The dow bottomed out nearly 3 years after it peaked in 1929 and then rallied about 500% in the next few years (5????????), lost about half over the next few years and then resumed it's rise as I recall.
