An 18-24 month lag-time between policy and the economy is not uncommon. I don't see unwarranted fear or panic and people have resumed their lives with the main visible changes in travel security. As for the economy, I am amazed at its resilience in spite of the 90s bubble. However, Wall Street does now have a credibility problem with the public and changes in the SEC will be needed to restore it. * * *
