Herb has been on EDS alright, he was the original flame thrower taking advantage of the ENRON situation and started the perfect storm that hit EDS in the last few days. This does not mean he is right. I suspect that Herb is making some money shorting EDS while bad mouthing the stock from his media position. I can't believe that it delivers many paid subscribers to his stock advice web site.
At any rate, I love the response that Dick Brown gave to an analyst's question regarding whether the WCOM crisis had any effect on the layoff of 2000 employees - "This is not unusual for our business," Brown said. "This action has absolutely nothing to do with our relation with WorldCom. EDS is a solid company with a straightforward business model. We watch our money and we stick by our clients."
