I am not surprised. By all accounts the last bath he had was when he passed out in a rain storm in 1987. I regret to say that acid rain had not yet reached a strength sufficient to perform a badly needed public service.
Still all in all I have to give you a lot of credit for chomping down in the first place. I suppose they didn't carve off enough of a chunk of him to slow him down or better yet incapacitate him.
