gee, over on the Ascend thread you were chortling with glee for the last several days as the runup continued, possibly making you money. You even sounded like you had respect for the company. Over here that's another story - where you and your coterie have a snicker-fits on a daily basis.

But greed wins out, doesn't it? Figures...

In the meantime real analysts (meaning those with some talent and skills) will be dissecting this report and will have some interesting, positive conclusions about the next quarter or 2. Swallowing a fish the size of Cascade and having reached the point where sales and marketing are already fully integrated in the short time since the buy was announced is no small feat - so much for the doubters re a cross-country marriage. Of course it's not over yet but the effects have been small and the accretive-to-earnings not that far away. And a 250 employee cut isn't so massive as to hit the bottom line with a huge impact.

Note that the CEO said TNT K56 modules were shipping in "production" quantities as of yesterday - they were shipping in much smaller quantities earlier as production began to ramp up. Ordinary MAX units have been getting their modules for over a month now.

Meanwhile watch out for Bay, you COMS (and CSCO) watchers - they recently completed their acquisition of Rapid-City Communications, a start up in the GigEthernet arena. They have a fabulous product that was demonstrated in Las Vegas (before the BAY buyout was completed)...gonna revolutionize LAN speeds. Their backbone switch was routing over 7.2 million pps , as certified by the Tolley Group. It is an Ethernet-only switch, however, but it is std. Ethernet, not some proprietary protocol like Tag-Switching.
