It is always a problem. How do you deal with absolutists of any kind, in a free country? If you do not allow absolutism, then your country is not free. Yet if you allow it to thrive, then you nurture what can kill you. It is a grand experiment. It isn't only Islam that is worrisome. There are many very absolutist creeds (not all religious, some are philosophical ideas, or political ideas) that could destroy freedom in this country. I think the only protection is an informed and moderate majority.
