The freedom of speech doesn't allow you to scream fire in a crowded movie theater, so how can the media simply do essentially the same thing?

A moron yelling fire in a crowded theater doesn't have high paid lawyers backing him up reminding the justice department how the constitution works. They just lock him up, no questions asked.

The freedom of the press should include some responsibility to truth!

This is the problem with a distorted view of freedom. What people fail to remember is that freedom needs to have boundaries or it doesn't work. i.e. I have the freedom to smoke wherever I please but I am in essence squashing your freedom to breath fresh air. This ultimate freedom that many think we should have just defeats itself.

The media is 95% hype and 5% hear say!

Hype & hear say sells. Truth can only be sold if it is either horrific or hyped to be so.

There is little difference between the Washington Post and the national inquirer.

There is one difference. The inquirer sells more papers.
