I don't know. I'd really have to think about the dangers to our populace with guns, and the dangers without guns. The guns we do own privately, aren't exactly the kind that would deter a military take over. And a military takeover would be phrased in such a way to appeal to the very people who own guns- they'd probably be on the side of the take over. It would probably be in the context of some great overarching threat to security,martial law declared, etc (and everyone would probably be saying the pledge a lot). I'm not sure the 2nd amendment does much for anyone. JMO
