Hi Allen. Thanks for coming back with that gracious post.

History is interesting...At times.

You said....." If we use the logic that since the Jews were kicked out of Israel by the Romans in the second century AD, they are the rightful occupants of that land, then aren't the American Indians the rightful owners of the territory we call the United States? By that logic, don't the aborigines have a legitimate claim on Australia and Tasmania? Should the Maori own all of New Zealand?

I have asked many people many times what would determine legal ownership of land. Should it be as you have stated above.." who was there first" ? Should it be determined by war? Should it be determined by majority?

The point I was trying to make was that the arab/palestinians were using history ( they were there first ) as a reason to continue killing innocent people. they were not the first there so this is a moot point.

A recognized state of Palestine has never existed so this is not a legitimate reason.

If war is the determining factor then the state of Israel owns the land.

If it is majority of a race of people then Jews are the majority.

So, any opinions?

Ah yes I almost forgot one. If a state is created by the UN does this determine ownership of the land?
