I have never made any comments on Taiwan engineers not being smart. INTC
has many engineers from Taiwan in design and process. You don't understand the
difference between INTC's process (for CPU's) and UMC's process (for ASIC's).
INTC has many generations of experience optimizing the performance of their
FET architecture. UMC's process history has been in ASIC's which don't require
FET performance but need metal density for routing. These are two
very different processes and UMC will NOT come up to speed in one or
two generations. Sorry.
