BTW- it is impossible to legislate what people "think". You are going astray of the real problem by throwing that in. People who wish to say the pledge in a non-governmental setting and put "under God" in it have every right to think me a dork if they ever find out that I do not wish to say "under God". The neat thing about NOT saying it in school, is that way no one ever knows if you are the kind of "dork" who would or would not say it. We eliminate the problem. That is neat, is it not?
