I have read the support for a cash injection and would like to add my 2 cents worth. When the VD portfolio was started, my understanding was that it was to mirror possible results that were achievable. This was why the commissions and other charges were added. Injecting more cash can only diminish the validity of the long term results. If more cash must be added perhaps a second portfolio would be a better alternative. In the long run this portfolio will ultimately recover -- or the premises on which it is based will be shown to be invalid i.e. there is a market for improved, novel medicines, and that the information available to the public relative to those products has some validity enabling a rational selection between companies to be made.
