Or fired too many. Still, you have to admit that filling a corrected SEC form only hours after receiving an e-mail at investor relations during a holiday week shows remarkable diligence and speed. They don't act like a sleepy utility.

On another front, the CA ISO fined 31 energy companies for not making reserve power available as promised in 2000 and 2001. The list and amounts was released yesterday

Mirant's fines amount to $3 million out of a total of $122 million. Dynegy, Williams, and Reliant Resources had the lion's share of the fines at $44.8, $25.5 and $25.1 million respectively.
