Jimbo, sometimes a base on balls is as effective as a single. Sometimes selling half a position with a double digit gain, may be the prudent thing to do.
A bear market is similar to a close game in the final innings. Instead of playing for the big inning, you move runners along, sacrifice, hit and run and just play for one run at a time. A win, is a win, is a win.
Until the trend changes, it's better to think about what is, as opposed to what can be.
