Hi Vic...>>>Meanwhile, your "dumb-quotes" president has earned the highest public approval rates of any pres in history...<<<<

His approval rating may be related to the way he has handled events since 9/11.... but other than that his ratings look dismal....

This fall's elections will tell a lot about approval...Do we want more Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, Pitt and their cronies or

we want other choices to reform the way things are done in this country. The tanking stock market will hurt Republicans in this falls election....nothing like losing a good part of your wealth to demand a change in leadership. (eg. Hoover, Bush Sr.)

To me it looks like 9/11 played into Bush'e political hand. We took our eyes off some of his disappointing moves...environment...labor..corporate governance etc.

We now know that when Bush and Cheney talk about an energy policy they are talking about Enron, Dynergy, and ANWAR.

Presidential Popularity is a short time thing. Think back to the Gulf War. Bush Sr. seemed unbeatable right up to the election.

JMO...Jerome
