As to Pilger, he has had an audience since 911, and probably long before. Try signing onto some Islamic discussion groups on Yahoo, (the Pakistani-oriented ones are about the only ones in English), and you'll find that Pilger is WORSHIPPED there -- his every musing reposted ad nauseum, (and always from the big British papers).

As to Europes views of us, don't let yourself be fooled into thinking that it is our views on various issues, or our military might, which makes them feel threatened, because it's not.

It's our success, and their inability to deal with their jealousy of that success, that causes the problems. In Europe, they are too arrogant to admit their jealousy, so they criticize our hangnails yet ignore their own gangrenous feet.

Consider a couple other regions, and their differing reactions to us:

In the greater Middle East, (by that I mean the Arab countries plus the predominently Muslim countries of northern Africa and south Asia), the despots who run those countries use their people's jealousy of the U.S. to stay in power. Specifically, the people have been brain washed by their own governments to transfer the anger and hatred which naturally results from their sorry lot in life, from its proper target, i.e., their own governments, onto the U.S.

In (much of) Asia, by contrast, they deal with the jealousy by trying to become more successful, like us. This is why Taiwan, which in 1950 had a GDP roughly on par with Egypt, (I think Egypt, but I cannot swear to it), now has a greater GDP than all the Arab countries combined.

Of course we are going to be isolated in the world, just as Winston Churchill warned us we would back in the late 1940's. We are the Super Power, and our system works better than any other.

Kissing Europe's fat, bloated, pimply a$$ will not change that.
