1pod <<Nsumir..basically, govt numbers are like company earnings - you fabricate them; then revise downwards later on.>> Don't even suggest that. You may argue with what exactly they count (this goes for all the gov stats; productivity, cpi, ppi etc) but the integrity of the stat is not compromised. Revisions are caused by some numbers arriving later than the promised release time of the particular stat.
