<<Just bought my first bottle of Patron today- what's the difference between silver and gold?>>

Since I'm the thread expert on this, I thought I'd chip in my two cents. The chief difference between the silver and the Anejo is the method of aging. Anejo is aged in oak barrels for up to two years, silver is not aged as long or in oak. Generally, the Anejo is preferred for straight sipping, silver can be mixed (although it's not bad at all straight up, as you've observed). They're both exceptionally smooth, 100% blue agave derived tequilas (although as you've pointed out, not especially cheap...but yer call profits from today should have covered the tab easily, I imagine....<G>)
