Before we get into that, I first want you to commit yourself to the position that including "under God" in the Pledge constitues prayer.

It isn't prayer by any definition I know of. Prayer is directed toward or at the object of the prayer. A statement of relationship is not a prayer. Saying a person is a man of God isn't a prayer. Saying this is a country under God isn't a prayer, by any definition of prayer I've ever come across.

If it isn't prayer, it isn't affected by the prohibition on prayer.

If that's prayer, then allowing students to use coins in school is allowing prayer in school, since they contain the words "In God we Trust." If "under God" is a prayer, surely "In God we Trust" is a prayer.
