I've been watching the news and getting cranky. It's the Pledge coverage redux. On Fox they had a roundtable discussion about what an idiot the spokesman from the FBI must be, about how he could possibly say that they couldn't yet say whether the incident at LAX was a terrorist attack or not, that it might be a murder or a hate crime or something else. How dare the FBI be so circumspect! Then they got all exercised about how we need all this security in airports to keep people from walking in the front door with a gun. About how we need security to be set up a mile from the terminal. Airport security is about keeping guns of planes, not out of terminals, for heaven's sake. If we're going to have security to keep guns out of terminals, maybe we should have security at pizza parlors and movie theaters, as well. I wish the media would just calm down.
