You Get What You Pay For.

I find it amazing that people believe they can observe companies go near BK, see their market cap cut by 90%, enjoy rates that are maybe 1/10 Th. of what they were only a couple of years ago etc etc etc and STILL expect these companies to improve their services.

This after they were literally gouged to death by the spectrum auctions, had overly competitive pressure hoisted upon them by that most bizarre of agencies , the FCC, and are under constant harassment by those who want cell towers disguised as anything but cell towers, among a myriad of other issues.

It appears the telecom industry and its shareholders were targeted to subsidize the productivity gains in the " NEW ECONOMY ".

Now they are all grappling for survival , after having laid off thousands and thousands of employees , and are the scourge of industrial America!!

It's time America got out of the corporate interference business in technology and put more effort into better regulation of the parasites of the economy. That would be Wall Street.

Can America take a hint...before it takes another hit?I'm not holding my breath.

And you wonder why foreign investors are moving away ( nay ESCAPING!! )from the US?

What a mess governments can make of industry if given enough power.

The DOW is at 9300 from a high of 12,000, for a 20% loss.

The NAS is at 1400 after a high of 5000 for a 70 % loss.

Is it any wonder?
