tom the renovations you made sound great - hostas would look fantastic in your garden. i've got a whole lot as well - i think they're beautiful but, unfortunately, so do the slugs. don't know if you get many slugs (the garden variety) down your way or not, but sometimes i think - that they think - the sole purpose of my garden is to feed them. by the end of the summer the hostas are pretty "holie". i'm thinking i might renovate a bit next year too - maybe plant a rose garden. we'll see. rose
