Oh please
paranoia thy name is Michael M

What people are afraid of is losing their hegemony. It is a terrible thing to lose an advantage. I understand that. But taking away an unfair advantage does not mean the people taking it away intend to be equally unfair. Guilt over having such an advantage often makes people feel reprisals are in order. But even though the monotheistic Christians have abused their power, I certainly don't want to punish them in any way. Although of course neutrality is perceived by them as a punishment. But there is nothing I am willing to do about that. Neutrality in government toward religion is not an attack on religion no matter how much people who want religion in government think it is.

You speak of historical references. Present observances across the land on a daily basis in schools nationwide are not "historical references".
