<<Lastly, any energy policy that proposes that we rely more on coal is one which belongs in the nineteenth century. No matter how cleanly you can get it to burn it's still a horrific job getting it out of the ground and there's a finite supply of it.>>

Well call me and my neighbors old fashioned. Our electric co-op bought a coal field and are building a coal fired plant on the site. It will burn 50% cleaner than even proposed 2020 standards call for. The coal is laying right on top of the ground and is no harder to mine than moving dirt.

The US has enough coal to meet our electricity needs for 300 years. That energy money could be going to US miners instead of ME pockets.
