Not surprisingly, Barbie joins the virtual pet craze. Confer: biz.yahoo.com In other Mattel news, Jill Barad, the martinet Barbie who runs Mattel Corporation (CEO and Pres.), has joined Steve Jobs's Pixar Animation Studios, the outfit responsible for Toy Story. Pixar has long term deals with Disney. So does Mattel. biz.yahoo.com It is all just one big fraternity. Disney stock is down 7% since the 18 June 1997 Baptist boycott was announced. Hercules is a bust having garnered a mere $66 million at the box office and a bust for Mattel, too. If the recently announced Dis' Disney campaign and other angry and dissatisfied entities can substantially impact Disney's bottom line, a foul wave might wash over Mattel, as well. Oh, too bad.
