Bob, <<In 29' the business climate was already very sucky for several years>> Not true at ALL! No sign of business weakness was seen till Oct economc numbers were reported in November. There was a couple of "mixed" monthly reports in late spring 1929, but nothing bad, and you have mixed numbers every year always. It is well known that government and all business/industry leaders were considering business and economy just fine till winter of that year. Joe PS, it is extremely naive to think that Morgan, Baruch, Sloan, Schwab, etc etc were suckers compared to the millions of today's six-month stock market veterans.
