So what the hell is so sacred about humble.
Ted Williams was NOT a people pleaser.
Takes, sometimes, a man with fierce inner strength to say "i don't give a damn if i don't PLEEEEEESE the crowd".
Also his refusal never to tip his cap again to the crowd after a time of of heavy booing he went through, he was a man who was saying "IT HURT ME, IT HURT ME AWFUL WHEN THEY BOOED ME.I will never show respect again to THE CROWD!"(that is a Proud man, and bless him for it).
And he had the will and strength to hold true and not tip his hat again(i RESPECT that), not until that one precious moment when the old Ted Williams said " I tip my hat now, i tip my hat to ALL New England" Max
