Ray, have you been following me around or something <g> ?

I've been listenting to Norah's "Come away with me" for a few months now. Even heard her tunes on the radio in Italy last month. She's the only truly great new musician I've heard in the past ten years. Waitin' to see her live at Yoshi's next time. Krall's ok, but Jones has something unique going (probably her father's music genes).

Starbucks slipped a new store in the breeding grounds of Peets around here several months ago. Nobody knew what it was going to be until it opened - they sure didn't advertise the fact. They knew the neighbors wouldn't stand for it if they revealed the ugly truth ! Somehow they got away with it.

I saw Hertz interviewed on Bill Moyers just this week, and had heard about her book. They need someone with a little gravitas like her's to counter the Davos boyz portraying them as nuts. This one will take some time to gather steam, and as you know, by the time it does, the crooks will have gotten away after doing much damage again. Seems like a broken record, but it's worth the effort.

What I expect though, is that it will gain no mainstream support until the average joe realizes his 401k is mostly gone, and the ceo's ran off with what used to be his defined benefit pension money. Funny how self interest motivates people in this country like nothing else. Once they figure out the scams, late as usual.

But now, for the holiday weekend, more beers and cheers to ya !
