Jay,
Re: We are watching a drama of history, up close, live on CNN. Abracadabra, again.
I refuse to believe it. Roger Ailes, a very partisan GOP operative is in charge of CNN today, and the role of the station is largely to provide propaganda.
A more realistic statement would be: "We are watching abracadabra, in front of the curtain, almost every minute on CNN."
Someone wiser than me said that the totalitarians of the 21st Century would control the masses via manipulated images on electronic screens. I can tell they're making a good start.
Re: <<Mr Bush is devoted to political freedom, but he's forgotten the value of economic freedom.>>
I have no idea where you picked that quote up from, but I don't agree at all. Were Bush devoted to political freedom, he wouldn't have nearly as much egg on his face from the failed Carmona coup in Venezuela.

No, GWB remains true to U.S. foreign policy goals. Supporting every right-wing dictator and two-bit brasshat that is willing to do the bidding of U.S. corporate banking interests across many nations around the globe. The rhetoric about "democracy" rings pretty hollow in the face of the actual record of who the U.S. has supported over the past 50 years overseas. If anything, true democrats, like Hugo Chavez and Salvadore Allende appear at great risk of having a CIA bullet in the back of their head.
