Even if they do that, it is too late to put the genii back in the bottle. The words, based on the rhetoric of the those who would defend them, have become "religiousized" in a most extreme way. If the court backs down now, it will clearly be violating the constitution, whereas it might not have been a violation before (using the ceremonial deism argument). It has become non-ceremonial and non-trivial. I don't think anyone can argue that those words are no longer religious or that those two words are trivial. Well, I don't think anyone can argue that and be at all convincing. That is what I should say.
