>>>don't believe everything you read, esp from the NYT.<<<

Enlighten me old man...exactly what has Bush done to restore investor confidence in the market????

>>>
did you know that Enron gave $$ heavily to the Clinton administration in return for clinton's people allowing Enron's trading to be unregulated? <<<

Enron gave heavily to lots of Politicians from both parties....but the Republicans got the bulk of the money and Enron the bulk of the benefits. I think that if all the politicians gave the political contributions back to Enron...it would be enough for them to come out of bankruptcy...(g.)

I believe that Republican financial losses are just as painful as the Democratic financial losses.

Daschle Says SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt Should Go
Sun Jul 7, 1:24 PM ET
By Lori Santos

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Accusing the Bush administration of a "cozy, permissive relationship" with corporate America, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle said on Sunday the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission ( news - web sites) was largely responsible and should be replaced.

Is there any reason not to fire Harvey Pitt???

At least Daschle is looking after the interests of the investors....more than Bush, Cheney and Pitt and their allies are interested in doing.
