Jon, I'm not a techie geek, but I thought 80211 is OFDM and I think that's what the little thing is sticking out of my notebook puter with a little green light on it.

I've just pulled it out and it has written on it, IEEE802.11b PCMCIA LAN CARD.

IEEE means Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers [I am guessing]

80211 is the neighbourhood in Beverly Hills next to 90211 ['b' meaning it's a b-class neighbourhood, like a b-movie].

PCMCIA means People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms.

LAN means Local Area Network.

CARD means something too.

Maybe that means it's not OFDM after all.

Here's a link which might help: 80211b.weblogger.com

I think [having read it] that 80211a is OFDM but 80211b is NOT OFDM, but 80211g will include OFDM and will be an upgraded 80211b. Therefore, I do NOT have OFDM. Oh well, back to the stone age.
