When you look back at how people reacted in the wake of 9-11 I think FADG preserves a fascinating glimpse of how a group set out to explore and discover explanations for the reality we find ourselves immersed in. In that sense, the thread, and all of it's readings and commentary, becomes yet another historical document to help illuminate our life and times. So, I thought it would be worthwhile to try and record the entire thread. Here's a brief description of how I have automated the process.

FYI, a simple AppleScript program is currently grep'ng its bits off coordinating the activities of IE5, BBEdit, and FileMaker to backup the thread.

I'm thinking of reprogramming this routine in Perl on Mac OS X UNIX (although BBEdit has pretty good grep capabilities).
