I always wondered if "morph" was secret code meaning "when I think about how much money I lost I want to puke, but I don't want to admit that I was an idiot and had no clue about reality, so I make up some new and equally ridiculous explanation for why everything is going to be just fine after all -- and anyway it was all Greenspan's fault". That would make L.A. "morph city".
